Hello,

I own a Mares Abyss, and the task at hand is to remove yoke fitting and install DIN. DIN seems like no problem, it takes a 6mm hex wrench.
Removing yoke came out to be a little more problematic. 1" wrench too big, 15/16" - too small, I figured it's metric, but none of the hardware stores around here sell anything bigger than 22mm that also fits inside A piece. I'm not even sure if it's 24 or 25 mm...

 Has anyone had experience with something like that? Is there a special tool? If not, what size wrench should I be looking for?

I probably will end up taking it to a shop, but I do not want to do so every time I fly to dive and need the yoke back...

You are right it is super easy just to swap them over use a big adjustable wrench to do the job, you should not have to get inside the yoke but do it form the outside instead.

Note there is an Oring just above the thread on both the DIN and the YOKE, when you swap them over this Oring is destroyrd 9 out of 10 times as it gets caught on the thread when you unscrew either fitting, so have a bag of spares onhand and replace it each time you swap.

Cheers

It's unbelievable how easy it is sometimes to be oblivious to a really simple and obvious solution.

Thank you! :)
