I'm a Fish!
hi im looking to get my hands on a Mares 1st stage MR22 service kit, i have searched the internet high and low and not getting any joy at all, i work in a divecenter here in Spain but my boss is dragging his feet at ordering the kit for me, in two weeks i have my IDC and over-pressured and leaky 2nd stage isnt a good start,

Actually im only after the poppet (but the full service kit would be ok too as i can fully service the reg also), it has become slightly scratched after 300+ dives and is now over-pressurising at around 14-15 bar instead of around 9.5, if anyone knows of a place i could order online i would be very appreciative, thanks

Here's another option.
I'm not sure if the MR22 has the cone seat but if it hasn't Aqualung/USD seats for a conshelf/titan and balance chamber o rings will be a direct swap.
If I remember correctly the MR22 ruby and MR16 were the only Mares 1st stages that have a conical seat.
You can flip the seat in the 2nd stage.
Obviously OE parts should be used on customer regs for liability reasons.

Thanks, but thats a no go, the first stage in question is the "Mares MR22 Abyss 2005 model" the replacement part i need is T shaped on its cross section, with the upright being hollow to take the end of the pin and from above is a flat square with slightly rounded corners,

You can retrofit the MR22 with the new SCS (Spherical Core Seat) system - from a V32 or V16.

You will have to replace both the seat and poppet - but it is a simple replacement (just like doing a total overhaul).

If you can get your hands on a 2006 Service Manual - you can get the part numbers.

Cerveza. What you are describing is the HP seat. The AL/USD seat for any of their own (not Apeks) diaphragm models can be used in your 1st stage if you can't find the Mares parts.
