I just bought a Canon WP-DC90 Housing on e-bay. It is a showroom model and the guy doesn't have the manual(s). Does anyone have the manual(s) or other information on this housing in a format they can share (PDF or similiar)?

I would sure appreciate it.

Jeff S.

Have you checked out www.canon.com? They might have it.

There's not much to know with these housings - not sure I've ever even taken one of the manuals out of the box!

Let me know what questions you have and I'll try to help!

If they have it on their site, I sure can't find it.

I can't imagine they are too difficult to figure out, but having never used one before, I wanted to make sure I understand the seals and rings, proper care, etc.

Thanks for the response.

Jeff

Try this .... LINK.... This is pretty much everything you need. Page 3 has o-ring maintenance, and Page 10 has Maintenance on a boat. This article has allot of good information on taking photos and video with underwater housings. If you need anything else, I have the manual and can answer any specific questions you might have you have. Good Luck.

Here's another good link, it has tips for shooting as well as a guide for preparation and care: Canon Housings

Thanks - I have the same housing on the way too that is manual-less (not from the same auction, a fellow scuba boarder had one up for grabs...) Since this will be my first housing, I had questions as well.

Ask away :) Maintenance is pretty easy really:

- rinse well with fresh water
- rinse with housing closed and sealed, work all buttons and levers gently
- orings should be slightly shiny with no blobs or any debris on them and no splits. Note the canon orings often have a line, perhaps a bit raised, on them from the mold - this doesn't seem to be a problem.
- if you're storing for a long time, pop the oring into a ziplock bag and stick it in the closed housing
- only use a tiny amount of grease when you need it..too much and it just causes every bit of fluff within 20 miles to attach itself to the oring lol
- gently with the levers and buttons...if you feel you have to force it, something is wrong. Stop, look it over, start over, try again...

Have fun!

I think I should be able to handle that. :)

What's the best thing to use for the grease for the oring?
