Manta Ray night dive

Is it possible to take pictures of the Manta Ray night dive in Kona without a strobe. I know that I won't get the best possible pictures without it, but is there enough ambient light to at least get a few decent shots? Has anyone tried it? If so, what kind of shutter speed and aperture did you use?

I use a digital pos camera and am not much of a photographer, so I can't go into speed and aperture, but you can see there is a ton of ambient light in this little vid.
