Tasik Ria is excellent!
Met the GM at KBR when I stayed there last month and went on Ocean Rover so had a chance to dive the Tasik Ria house reef.

Can highly recommend Tasik Ria and Eco Divers. Suggest to check their webpage. Weatherwise, even if it rains, it doesn't effect the diving.

Food good. My only "gripe" - 60 minute dives - and they are not flexible in this regard.

Hi:

I stayed at Tasik Ria Resort enroute to Raja Ampat (Sorong) November/December 2004. After the liveaboard in Raja Ampat, we spent 5 nights at KBR and another 4 nights at Tasia Ria.

Here's the link to my trip report on Tasik Ria.

Also, if your interested in KBR, here's my report on that:

and if you're not too tired after those reports, here's the link to my report on Diving Raja Ampat (Papua).

In a nutshell, we loved the resort itself (Tasik Ria). We did not however, enjoy Eco Divers at Tasik Ria. We felt herded and didn't like all the regimentation. We loved Eco Divers at KBR and they set the bar pretty high. The Eco Divers at KBR were fantastic - out of Tasik Ria it was completely different. I'd stay at the resort again, but dive with someone else. My personal opinions only......

I went on a dive package. Check out the link below.
2 hrs van ride from Tasik Ria to Lembah.

I was just there and Tasik Ria has great diving with a low guide to diver ratio (once I saw two guides with a single diver), The guides are very helpful in showing you fantastic creatures that you might have never seen on your own.

Tasik Ria/froggies/Manado is on the West Side of N Sulawesia and KBR/Lembeh Starits is on the East, so when the above says they are 2 hours apart, these are completely different resorts and diving

ScubaSandra,

I am dying to go to Indonesia to do some critter high def videography with my new rig.....so I've been reading all up......I like corals and surface growth, but like macro too, trying to see if a place has both.....KBR sounds great.....but maybe Bunaken has more corals....

I've taken the liberty of importing several of your nice photos and color correcting them in Photoshop because I was bored and it only took me a few seconds....

Your review was REALLY awesome, great information!
