Maluku - Ambon

Has anybody been to Ambon? I am planning to go there on April, is it safe now? A friend of mine has a rental tank business, it's very cheap, less than $10. But need to find the good dive spot, since some of them are bombed for fishing. Anybody familiar with the sites? Thanks

In 2004, a healthcare worker from Ternate told me that about 20 to 30% of the locals have malaria. Ternate is loctated in Maluku Utara Province (Utara means north)

I don't know about Ambon which is further south but you should defintely find out if Malaria is a problem.
