As far as I am concerned the Ocean Dancer is a very good and reliable liveaboard, as you would expect from peter Hughes. The Maldives Aggressor is new so it is natural for it to take its time to find its feet.

There are loads of boats in the Maldives, many run by very small, very casual local operations. They can be very unreliable. It is always safer in this destination to go, if possible with recognised names, or at least with names of the boats you see on lots of agent websites.

Thanks BikerMechanic for the post! I am also an American planning a diving trip to the Maldives and have had a tough time finding info. Most of the booking agents are in the UK and as I am in Hawaii, it is almost impossible to do any real-time communication, but have had helpful emails from Barefoot Travel, DTW and H2O, etc. Just wanted to say thanks for the trip review!!!
