Went back to the Nanoose area today. Madrona was great (it's really growing on me). Vis was still pretty good. I could see the wall from top to bottom (40 ft +?). Some yellow-eye rockfish kept swimming in front of my camera when I was trying to take a picture of something else. I guess he liked his (her?) reflection. Vis was around 15 feet in the shallows. Thermocline at 20 feet. I still think Cottam Point is a waste of gas for divers from Victoria. Vis was around 20 feet which was much better than last time (6 feet). There still wasn't much to see except bare rock, urchins and copper rockfish. Unlike Betty Pratt-Johnson, I didn't see "boulders smothered with orange anemones so thick I couldn't see the rock". I did see a lot of rock though. And gravel. And silt. For a spot with current I expected a bit more. I swam out along a steep reef towards Mistaken Island in the distance. I swam for about 20 minutes, but didn't get deeper than 60 feet. At the top of the reef, the current was pretty noticeable, but still, nothing but urchins. Maybe the low salinity has something to do with it. Thanks for lending me the 40 cft, Hyperlimits. I don't know how you carry that thing and doubles. I bet you breathe the nitrox to give you energy.

No problem Mark. Try carrying a set of double and two 80cf, now that a lot of fun.
Keep the 40cf as long as you need. Nice pictures by the way.
