As noted in diverbrians trip report there was some nice diving in the Straits this year. We had a great time with the Captain of Outfoxed operated by Abyss Dive Charters.
For next year the plan will be to do some penetration dives into the Cedarville. This will more than likely involve some deco obligations(although nothing lengthy). This will be a "targeted" charter and due to gear requirements there will be a limit of four people per boat(Abyss has two boats). Arrangements will need to be made early so the Abyss Dive Charters can position both boats in St. Ignace if both are needed.
In general, at this time there will be 3 dives. Profiles for the dives will be predetermined so everyone will be on the same page so to speak.
Training and experience requirements will be forthcoming over the next few weeks but in general decompression and wreck or cave penetration training will be needed. Plan to get this training as soon as you can if you need it.
We will stay at the Drifwood Inn with rates based on double occupancy. I'm thinking about having lunch on the boat to cut down on the travel time but I will need to clear this with the Captain(s). Breakfast choices are somewhat limited due to opening times. Friday and Saturday dinners have several options.
For the 2005 trip I will start a first come first serve list and take some names as alternates.
If you are interested please let me know fairly soon.
