We'll be going to Mabul in a little over a week and I'd like to know what must see things I should ask dive guides to find for me? I'll be shooting macro and wide digital and slide, so it's really a photo trip for me and I'm hoping to shoot anything weird, funky, unusual, hard to find, rare....

Thanks all!

Then it's a correct place to be. Apart from Mabul, there also nearby islands like Kapalai and Sipadan which also offers a lot of varieties of small and spectacular marine lives.
Here some links that could help. In Mabul, it's known the best macro dive destinations in the world.http://www.deepdiscoveries.com/mabulisland.htm

Have fun!

Anemone, thanks for the reply!

I knew about Kapalai and Sipadan but I was convinced to go to Mabul after a friend went to Kapalai and Sipadan last year and didn't care for the accomodations. Is it still true that most divers stay on Sipadan? My friend said that Sipadan was a ghost town when he was there (sep. 03) Can you or anyone else tell me how the Water Village boat dives are handled? Are they dingy's or a full on dive boat? How many people are put on each boat? Are the guides accomodating to long slow photo dives?
