Hello, I am reluctantly opting to let the M52 lens go separately.
Backscatter price: $449 + CA sales tax $34.80 = $483.80.
The lens is NEW, i.e., still has the protective coating, so
I am looking for $333 + shipping (via Paypal).

Thanks for your interest

If you split up, are you going to come down from the current retail price of $800 for the camera + housing?

If you ever opt to break the package up, keep me in mind. Would be interested in chatting about the M52 lense. :)

If I sell the lens before heading offshore, I will sell the camera & housing for less than that retail price.
If I don't, I will just keep the whole set-up together.
Will keep you posted.
Thanks for your interest.

As much as I wish otherwise, I'm going to pass on the lense. Where we already have the M52 Air lense, upgrading our strobe will bring more bang-for-the-buck to our rig right now. Thanks for offering regardless!

Thanks for letting me know. I am thinking of hanging on to this rig, which I have yet to try. Backscatter recommended the wet M52 120 over the dry M52 80 for shooting big pelagics, mantas, whale sharks, sharks, dolphin, at Revillagigedo.
I have a Sola 1200/2500, but no strobe. Do you recommend that M52 Air; and,
what strobe? I am a neophyte, as you can tell, so a ways from gearing up for macro. Any advice/expertise appreciated.

I went with the dry lens primarily to keep the form factor as compact as possible. I paired it up with an Inon S2000 strobe with good effects, however, will likely upgrade to a Z330 this Xmas time for the Mrs. to get more lighting power.
