Hey Everyone,

Haven't posted in a long time. My dive buddy, L. Horne and I are diving the Luckenbach with Lynnhaven on Sat May 27. Will be our first Va Beach dive this season. Anyone know what the temps have been out there lately?

Anybody else signed up for this dive. Just hoping to meet some other divers on the Board. Smithfield Diver, Rad Diver Etc.

Gary

We went to the Morgan last Saturday 5-12 & water temp was up to a comfortable 51%.
I was suppose to go dive Hatteras this weekend, but alas Saturday has been blown out, but we still are holding out hope for Sunday.
My wife is going out of town next weekend so I will have to stay close to home, so a trip to the Luchenbach might be a good idea. We were suppose to hit the Luchenbach last weekend, but were outvoted by a group of out of towners.

I just looked on Lynnhavens site & it is Sunday the 27th. Not that it would effect my decision to go, just wanted to set the record straight.

You are right. It is Sunday, just wasn't paying much attention when I was typing it. It is Sunday that we are diving the Luckenbach.

Last time I dove it was 2 years ago. I remember after reading my log that it was 58 degrees and vis was prety bad. Ran wreck reels.

Last year we did not even dive Va Beach. We drove to Hatteras most of the time and dove on Capt JT's boat. Was usually worth the drive to get 75 degree water with 75 ft vis on the Proteus.

I believe that. We (Drewski on this board & I) were suppose to dive down Hatteras way this weekend, but got blown out on Saturday & most of the people that were diving Sat. were to dive Sun. also. They didnt want to make the trip for just 1 day of diving so we didnt have enough interest to get the trip going & lost the charter. Bummer. Andy called most of the ops down there & they either didnt answer or were booked already. Which was the case for JT.
So we decided at the last moment to hit Lynnhaven to jump on the Morgan trip for today.
We had somewhere between 5-10ft of vis & water temps of 52%. Still had a couple of good dives & it beat not diving at all.
Anyone else interested in this trip? Andy will not be able to make this trip so I need a buddy. Well I dont actually need one as I will be in my doubles & be slinging a 40, but my wife would prefer I not go it alone.

Well I might have to bail on this trip. I was in Dive Quarters yesterday & Joe was talking about going to the Chenango on Sunday, then moving to the Eureka for the 2nd dive.
Now thats a day of some serious diving.

Larry and I are diving 32% in single HP 120's with 19 in ponies. we are bringing our scooters too, but if the vis is only 5 to 10 we will probably leave on the boat. How many divers had signed up when you were at Lynnhaven? Last time I checked there was 6.

I think I was #8, but someone called in to cancel while I was there. With this weather forecast I cant believe more wont jump on this trip.
I have 32% in my double alum 100s that I need to burn, not the optimal for that depth, but could save me from refilling my steel 98s that Im using tomorrow. I will also be slinging a 40 with 40%. Just trying to get used to having it as part of my gear.

This trip got canceled. We made it about 1/4 mile outside of Rudee inlet when both engines died. Got 1 running to get back to dock, but could never get the port side engine to re-fire.
Sometimes "it" happens.
