Anyone else think that the quick-disconnect hose that comes with the Ranger/LTD is a couple inches too long?

If so, what'd you do? Live with it? Buy a shorter hose? Other solution?

The hose length on the Ranger seems long, but it's actually a pretty good length. . . For use with a shoulder pull-dump. If it were much shorter you'd pull on the corrugated hose, it would try and extend, but the LP hose would tighten-up and prevent the pull-dump from being able to activate. So, if you're going to go with a shorter LP hose make sure that it's still long enough to allow for the pull-dump to work. If the pull-dump isn't used, then the LP hose is a pretty standard one, so you could probably just switch it out with a Miflex or generic hose.

I replaced mine with a shorter hose for use with my Escape and Ranger. OTH, my wife feels hers was the right length.

This falls into the "you can please some of the people some of the time..." category.

I think of the hose as I do a drysuit - it is better to be a little too long than a little too short!!

:)

I swapped mine out for a 22" hose, but i never use the shoulder dump so it is the right length. I like to vent from the inflator or the hip vent depending, but that is mostly because I use it when I'm upside down trying to get lobster.

...save a few bucks and just tie a knot ...or two...or three, in the LP hose to shorten it as needed.

tying knots in your hose that's a joke right? You should watch what you say, someone might do that and die. Yes, I agree the hose is too long. I'm going with a miflex hose and adapter that's two inches shorter. I agree, that if it's too short you wont be able to dump.

...ummm, yes, I provided a 'silly' answer to a 'silly' question, if that's what you're asking ! The OP knew the full well what the 'answer' to the question was...what other conceivable answer could there have been ??? !!! '"live with it ?" ...umm, yeah...or "buy a shorter hose ?" ...umm, yeah again.....or maybe just stop diving, that would work too I suppose......

Same issue. I just ordered the MIFLEX 24" hose with adapter for the SS-1 I hop that will be short enough without being too short to utilize the pull/dump issue

I was actually hoping some would say "if it's brand new, never-been-used, you can exchange it for a shorter one". Sorry that you didn't quite get my dry sense of humor in the "silly" options I proposed.
