Should a LPI hose have a cover on it when it’s be stored?

The end that inserts into my bcd inflator.

So when it’s hanging my closet or not attached to my bcd during travel should I have it covered with a cap or something?

There is actually a valve inside the fitting you have circled. The valve is closed when the fitting is disconnected from the inflator, so no reason to cover it unless you have an issue with bugs.

The red plastic thread protector on the other end is nice to have before screwing the hose into a first stage. After that, "unless you have an issue with bugs"............

No bug issue. Thanks for the advice.
