Hello there!

Does anyone know of anyone in the Los Angeles/Malibu area with an underwater metal detector? My husband lost his wedding ring last Saturday near Zuma beach :(

Thanks for any help you may have!

I suggest you ask a moderator to move this from Intro & Greets to The Southern Califonia Forums. You'll get more local people reading it here.

You can PM a moderator and request it, or perhaps hit "Report Post " (bottom of your initial post) and ask that way since you're new and you don't know who the Mod's are to ask. Just ask in there, and it will be reported to a moderator who can help you.

Good luck in finding it. :thumb:

From my understanding, you would be better off just buying a new ring. The cost and time it would take to thoroughly search the beach/water would be far more than the replacement cost of getting a new one.

I know - but it is my husband's grandfather's ring. I don't have high hopes but I have heard of people finding them...the lifeguard said rings don't travel far they just sink and get buried.

Do the lifeguards have your phone numbers? A few weekends ago one of my dive buddies lost a fin when we dive the pinnacles, and later that afternoon the lifeguard called me to say they found it.

I think the big rigs drive across the sand every morning at Zuma / Westward Beach to pick up all the non-sand debris, so they might have found it.

They do have our number so hopefully that's the case! we didn't think it would wash ashore but you never know. thanks for your comment!

My wife lost her wedding ring while cruising our sailboat on Lake Dillon in Colorado. Didn't think I was ever going to hear the end of that one. Thankfully, the large diamond and it's setting was insured. I doubt the lake ever gave it up.

Hope you have better luck than we did!
