I am looking into staying close to the beach/ocean when I am in Roatan in mid-April. From their website Lost Paradise looks like a good option but I rarely see any reviews on any website. Anybody stay there?

Also, any feedback on the Pura Vida dive shop?

Thanks,

Steve

Got back from Roatan one week ago and stayed 9 nights at Lost Paradise.

Pros:
- The grounds are very well kept
- You are right on the bay
- Cabins are extremely clean (my wife even tipped the housekeeper)
- Owners are super people
- Your own spacious cabin with a nice front porch
- At the end of West End, so not that much traffic, but still a very easy walk to the main stuff (100-200 yards)
- Bed was comfortable
- A/C worked well and always had hot water
- WiFi in the office (free) The office is open till 8 or 9, can't remember which

Cons:
- Fosters = Friday and Sat night they blast rap till 2am
- Very slow to fix minor problems (4 days to get a new light bulb....welcoime to Roatan)
- Fosters = did I mention the rap music till 2am

Met several couples that stay there every year and just accept Fosters. Some said they wore ear plugs on Fri & Sat and that worked fine.

If you decide to stay there, ask for a bay-front cabin as far from Fosters as possible (Aries I think. Aquarius is the closest and where we stayed)

Can't be any help with Pura Vida, I always dive with Coconut Tree Divers.

Well I am not sure of lost Paradise, but I have been to Roatan twice already and going again this year. I always stay at Foster Bay at West Bay not West end....It is reasonably priced and cabana's right on the beach. You have a dive shop right there and it is very quite at night and the people are friendly. The rooms are clean there is also a outside Bar/restaurant on the grounds. And you can walk down the beach to the other bigger hotels and go to their restaurants if you want to try other places. I went in September and there wasn't too many people, but in the evening very quite and relaxing and for a Sky Cabana at 700 for the week not too bad. But you can get rooms for about 450. wk. also. You should check out there website.

The Oasis is located at the property of Guava Grove in Sandy Bay.
