I lost my favorite large finger hole Dive Rite 125ft spool yesterday while diving CSSP. Probably a foot+ under the silt somewhere!! I have a clue how it happened (my error), but could not find it after searching. Has AK on it in silver paint pen. So I ordered a brand new one last evening. I will use my 100ft. back up till the new one arrives.

What area of the park were you in when you lost it?

At about 50ffw, as best I can tell in front and to one side of the ScubaToys compound. :(

We' ll keep an eye out for it. I guess a few of us could volunteer for roto-tiller duty some weekend.

Edit: Check that. Alan, does it contain enough metal to show up on a metal detector?

I was diving SOLO at CSSP, aka The Pond, and if you remember, I lost my large finger hole DR 125ft. spool, mid pond.

Well I am cruising along At 50-52ffw and with the vis at 15/20ft, I notice dead ahead what appears to be a black object....the closer I get I make out an SS double ends, so I keep cruising.....get right on it and it big silver paint letters are AK ---I found my spool!!!! It had laid there 20 days. It was only about 1/2" in the silt. So now I got back my old one, and have a new one also I bought to replace it.

Was a good day. :)

PS-- water temp. at 50ffw//61ffw was 46F and maybe 49F at the surface.

:) Way to go Alan!
Congratulations!

I am jealous that I didn't get to go diving. I had to sit at home and do my taxes. Stupid taxes!

That is good news, Alan! I'm glad you found your favorite spool. That would make for a good day of diving!
