Ah.. your sacrifice to the dive gods. For what it's worth, I lost a knife once diving the Piscataqua River in Portsmouth. (slipped out of sheath) I found it again 2 mos later. Was a bit rusty but was able to clean up w/ WD-40.

it was the beach with the big rock about 500 yds from land was diving the outer side from a boat. this post was a shot in the dark

I wonder what percantage of gear purchases are to replace lost or stolen gear? I hate to think about the list of stuff I have had lost or stolen.

My favorite was a surface swim after a dive and I felt a tick on my fin and watched my bc knife flutter down to the bottom - low vis, low air, too deep to get..... :depressed:

Also had a $3k worth of gear stolen while on American Airlines......

The one with the house on it, or the one with the seagull crap on it?

Wetwillie,
I admire and respect your optimism. ;) My buddy lost his cadillac of a frog-sticker a few months ago while we were cleaning a boat in about 2" of visibility. I dropped my scraper the other day while we were in the same marina, and, lo and behold, my hand found the knife. I got so excited, I forgot about the scraper and ended up losing it. But, I got my buddy his knife back. The titanium still looked beautiful....

matt, its the one with the crap on it. im pretty sure its the rock off the beach where you need a resident sticker, but i will find out for sure. by the way thanks for your interest

this was my first sacrifice to the " ocean god" and i learned a valuable lesson. i got rid of my home depot clips soon after.
