Welcome to SB. Gopro cameras are dropped in the Coz channel frequently, and they're usually just lost - sinking below diver depths or floating towards the US. Some are found, and if you have your contact info on the camera and/or protected on the SD card, many divers will attempt to contact owners. If you did not mark it, forget it, but then I think you can accept that it's just gone - more ocean litter.

Got home insurance that might cover it, or better - Trip insurance? State Farm offers a low cost, generous property policy for such. You don't need to be an existing customer. You said it had a floaty handle. Is the handle buoyant at depth, or is it like their snorkeling float backing that becomes useless at 30'? Should people be looking on the bottom or on the surface?
