Lost at Sea

On Sunday Nov 4th while diving Cedral Wall I had a scary thing happen. I blew my pressure gauge completely off the high pressure hose which in turn blew my (non AI) computer out of my council. Other than loosing both items all ended OK thanks to quick thinking / actions by my dive buddy brother and DM Eddie (Opal's Dream). Anyone happen across a Uwatec Aladin Prime computer and pressure gauge?
Also I got wondering what other items people have "lost at sea". There must be many, many stories out there. So fess up......what have you lost?

Our first trip to Cozumel in 1997, our dive instructor friend got into a friendly wrestling match with his dive buddies. He lost a Scubapro split fin - the kind that floats. It's probably in Belize or Bonaire by now.

I always seem to find things while diving. Couple lights, numerous weights, rattle stick, whistle, money, snorkel.

I lost a prescription mask. Was on the boat and rinsing it over the side and it just slipped out of my fingers. Was up north at Barracuda so it is probably a million miles away...but if you happen to find a black prescription mask....

We were diving I think Tunich a few years back, maybe tormentos, with a split group. Our group had been diving together for about a week, and were experienced. The other group was comprised of new divers, including one single woman with all new gear including a new camera and housing which was still in the box when she got onboard. She assembled the camera and housing on the way out to the dive site. Our two groups came within sight of each other during the dive, as we splashed seperately, and I watched her point to a turtle, and try to hand the camera to her DM. He pushed it away, and she took the photo. Im sure that she continued to snap photos the rest of her dive. When we surfaced, the other group was in the boat waiting, and scanning the water. As we got in the boat, she informed us she had lost her camera and didnt know how long ago or where she was at when she lost it. We told her it would be long gone, even if it was positive bouyant. We got everyone on board, out of their bcds, and about to leave for the SI, when she screamed.."there it is", and sure as heck, there it was floating, and it actually floated right up to the side of the boat. Talk about luck!!!

Signal mirror, dropped and almost lost a wide angle lens on a wall that bottomed out at around 300' in the Turks, and a frickin' snorkel! How do you lose something under water that is attached to the side of your head??

I dunno, Karloss, but it seems as though I end up grabbing floating snorkels almost every time I'm on with divers who are wearing snorkels with dive gear...

Haha I saved a snorkel - buddy and I started to descend before rest of the group bc buddy had ear issues... Was looking around and see a random snorkel headed into the abyss, wasn't too deep so I made a dash and grabbed it. Handed it back to the owner before dropping over the wall.... he seemed surprised I had it I think!

Only thing I've lost though was a couple lbs of lead to the muddy bottom of a lake while adjusting my buoyancy with a new suit on the surface. Butterfingers. Oh! And my BlueJays hat took flight off the boat as we headed back to the pier one afternoon.. Lesson learned.
