On backplate setups, I just have a length of bungee woven thru a triglide.

If I’m diving with open minded divers and a single bottle, I’ll slide it thru a backplate hole.

I find I don’t need an anchor to the webbing (although it does make it easier overall), I have no problems feeling for it against the plate vs the chest strap if needed. A small quick link and clip can be added after its placed in the backplate and clipped to the d-ring (I don’t find it hard to don/doff in 400g+ and heating systems, but can undo the clip if it is)

If I’m diving with those that would report me to the GUE police, it doesn’t need to come out :p

Although most are converts once they see it.

I pop out the bottle just before gas switch time, and tuck it back in afterwards for switch coherency..


I also do this method when I use my Sidekick with backmount tanks.
