YOU ARE NEVER TO OLD TO DIVE

My wife and I have been diving 42years, starting in Mexico in 1965 and on to the Caribbean, Haiti, The Netherlands Antilles, Greece, Central America, Turkey, the Pacific, Gulf of Mexico etc etc. On our 44th weeding anniversary we did the Blue Hold in Belize. The last time in the Caymans Islands in 2007.

In 1972 I produced a film “SCUBA” with Lloyd Bridges and Lamar Boren, you all know Bridges from Sea Hunt and other movies. Lamar did the underwater on Thunderball, Day of the Dolphin, and many other well known films and TV shows.

Some of the film was shot in the Caymans Islands and the diving there has always been by favorite.

I am 73 and my wife is in her 60’s and diving for us has been a live time adventure. When we were first in Grand Cayman we dove with Bob Soto. The last 5 times in Grand Cayman we were diving with Jason Washington of AMBASSADOR DIVERS Ambassador Divers Ltd., Grand Cayman Exceptional scuba diving in the Cayman Islands.

At our age we need a dive master that will appreciate and anticipate our needs. We have found Jason Washington to have a professional attitude and his attention to detail put us at ease and made the diving safe and a pleasure.

We just returned from diving with Jason and it was the best yet. As ever I told him what I was looking for in the way of dive sites and he knew just what I was looking for and I got some grate photos. Thanks Jason for being the best.

In your profile, you are shown standing on an LST or something similar (an LCT, etc). I recall seeing something like that being used in Cayman (by Soto?) for guest divers in 1972 or so.

Is that what you are pictured standing on?

I haven't gotten any older looking since then, either. Lloyd let me breathe out of his tank in 1958 when I was a wide eyed six year old.

You're Russell, right? At Soto's, you probably recall our good pal, Chris Lexau, yes? (NAUI 6618)

Glad to hear from someone like you joining our SCUBABoard !

Yes that is me on Soto's boat. Yes I am Russell, go by Brooks, Fleig. I don't remember the other person you mentioned. Thanks for the reply. Did you know that Soto's boat in under 60ft of water just off Sunset House. You can dive on it. Brooks
