Hey guys! New to the board here. Love scuba diving and usually go out on dives in Nassau, Bahamas.

I wanted to pick your brains and see what THIN wet suit, full body mens, all black, no or limited logos, you guys would recommend for around $100. It is for a costume which will be worn out of water which is why I would prefer a thin suit, but not something like a spandex outfit. It needs to look like it has thickness to it.

Any ideas? I know it's not fully SCUBA related but I figured you all would send me in the right direction!

Thanks!

Johnny

A full 1 MM is still plenty hot out of the water.

Anyone know where to get a 1MM or .5 mil Farmer John?

Keep in mind neoprene does not wick away sweat or oils and it does a very fine job of insulating. So 1mm or 7mm you're going to be pooling in sweat by the end of the night. I'll bet you'll probably be itching to peel off the 1mm halfway within the first hour.

Maybe consider a black dive skin instead? They look a little like a wetsuit; well under $100 at most places.

I have an old ScubaPro 0.5 mm skin, size large, that should be what you are looking for. It would cost a lot less than $100 if you are interested.

If it's not getting wet, forget neoprene entirely. Get a dive skin. Visually the same, but made of lycra, and available from tons of places for less than $50.

Any ideas?
What size do you need?

You could use a thin wetsuit and not over heat if you get it wet.

Just curious, what is the nature of your costume?

Is used OK?

Wow! Thanks everyone for the responses!!!

The NeoSport 1m looks great, but now I see what you guys are saying.

I don't want the suit to look like Spandex, which is my main concern and it must all be black. I can use fabric paint though. Zipper should be in the back as well.

BoulderJohn - That could totally work. Do you think the logo would come off the leg?

Would a lyrcra suit have the look of weight to it?

It's for a TRON Sam Flynn costume. Here's a good non-promo photo that shows the under suit. I am making all he armour from molds and rubber.
