The scout is the "preferred" choice, but at $86, it is kind of pricey (of course, DIR folks spend up to $1,000 or more on primary lights....).

I would look for something that is "neo-scout", as Ben suggests.
 
Search for a thread called scout alternatives...you can see pics of these lights there. I am planning to sand mine this weekend to keep them from wearing out my wetsuit (they are really, really knurled!). Other than that (very minor), they are worth the price savings over the Scouts (IMHO).
 
last night. Sandpaper from Home Depot was about 3 bucks for an assortment. Only took me about 5-10 minutes to get it to the level and smoothness I wanted. Still cheaper than $86 per light.
