I'm going to be in Tallahassee for Thanksgiving. I would really like to dive the Oriskany while I'm down. I'm thinking either the Sunday or Monday right after Thanksgiving (i.e. Nov 27 or 28), but I'm somewhat flexible.
My plan for the diving is very much subject to change based on input from people who know the wreck. But, my current thinking is to do 2 tech dives. The first, to around 165 - 170 feet, to swim around the outside at the hangar deck level. The second, to descend to the flight deck and then make a slow ascent exploring the tower. I think both would probably be run times in the 60 - 75 minute range. Both using light trimix (maybe just nitrox for the 2nd dive) and one deco gas. Again, the entire plan is sujbect to change based on better info and the needs/desires of my dive buddy.
Is there anyone that would be interested in and consider being my dive buddy for this little excursion?
