I have an A80. There is very little space in the housing for a desiccant package. I'm having trouble finding packages small enough to fit. I need some that are a bit smaller then the little packages of suger typically found on restaurant tables.

Maybe there is some other way to prevent fogging inside
the case?

Check out Mo2vation (or a screen name like that) He's got the goods.

That is what is in the link I posted.

We get them from the same place we get hearing aid supplies... they come in all forms and sizes. If you want some specific sites, just pm.

Just wondered if any of you regenerate the desiccant packs you already have? Sort of like recycling so you don't have to continually buy more. Seems like doing that would make more sense than just tossing them.

They're about 2.75" X 1". They're little fatties - about 3/8" of an inch or so in the middle, tapering off to flat on the very edges. These are filled with non-indicating SG.

Found the following details at:
http://www.brent-krueger.com/silicageluse.html

Note that the instructions relate to 40gram packs... and those packs are enclosed in aluminium tins... I don´t suppose a little plastic sachet is going to last long at 300F!

Reactivation Instructions

When you first use silica gel in the area to be protected, it may become saturated rather quickly as it "drinks up" residual moisture. Once the residual dampness is removed, you can maintain a dry condition with less frequent need to reactivate the silica gel. Reactivation times below are minimums. Sometimes, when the silica gel becomes overly saturated, it's good practice to extend the reactivation period. However, do not vary from the recommended temperatures.

40 Gram Unit: When the blue silica gel beneath the inspection window turns pink, reactivate as follows: Place the unit in a vented 300 degree F oven for at least 3 hours. (or until the silica gel turns blue again).
