Our family did our first liveaboard trip in December 2015 (5 nights on the MV Oktavia in the Anderman Sea, Thailand.

We enjoyed it so much that we are booked to go again in Jan 2017. I've been looking around for future options, but coming up a bit short on other options that represent the same level of value for money and fit our family circumstances as well; so I thought I would tap the collective wisdom of scubaboard.

On the Oktavia, my wife and I would dive with a private guide (I'd do 4 dives on nitrox, she would do 2 on air) and our girls (9 & 11 and both confident swimmers) would snorkel with a snorkel guide and other snorkelers 2, 3 or 4 times a day. Everyone had a blast and they did really well with our girls, who have pretty good manners (that's all on their mum!). Total cost for all of us for 5 nights with my Nitrox and the private guide is about USD 3400 (120,000 baht).

Are there other boats in Asia (not Anderman Sea, but indo, Philippines etc), South Pacific, Maldives etc that are snorkeller and younger person friendly but also match that price point? I pick that area because we're Australian, and they're easier to get to for us.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
