Hi... I'm looking to go diving tomorrow somewhere on Cape Ann. I'm looking for a place to dive that has easy parking close to dive site and not get towed (haha) but also should have some interesting terrain underwater and life. Not looking for any difficult entries. Can you give me some places to consider and what you like about it?

Thanks in advance! I'll let you know how I make out after the dive.

Two thoughts... Cape Ann doesn't really do easy close parking or easy entries. You could go to Nubble Light in Maine or give Cape Ann Divers a call - all you need is a buddy (minimum 2 divers to charter a boat to the site of your choice). Other than that, Back Beach is one of the easier entries I've done on CA once you get parked and climb down the stairs of course.

Thanks... It doesn't have to be easy... just didn't want to do Cathedral Rocks (on a bad day) type of entry. Easy to moderate would suffice.

Pebble Beach and the Gloucester breakwater come to mind as pretty easy entries, and you can park right next to the sites. The Breakwater (google dog bar breakwater) still has a $5 parking fee through the weekend as it is an Audubon site. I find the breakwater more interesting, as I love sticking my head in between the boulders that make the breakwater and finding stuff.

Thanks for all your replies. I ended up just going to Nahant after scoring a parking pass for Canoe Beach. That's one of my favorite places although today the vis was pretty poor... 8'-10' at best. Water was warm and the air was dry which was good for getting into a wetsuit. Not much in the way of lobsters at keeper size. Just a few fish. But the terrain is still great to swim around. Pretty much had the whole beach to ourselves. Overall a fun day. Finished off with fried clams and lobster roll at Belle Isle... Yum!
