looking for places to dive

I am a newly OW cert. diver and looking for places to go around me I live just outside Baton Rouge. I went to destin for a week to go diving and could not go because of the oil. I'll take anything that is no farther than a 7 hour road trip...............BP

As of now, Panama City Beach is still clear of oil. Great diving and probably about six hours drive for you.

My sister lives in Acadiana place. I am very close to Walker....Pete's hwy at Florida Blvd. How old are you? What kind work do you do? ABle to get away much to dive?

I'm 30 and I work offshore for Chevron on a 14 and 14 schedule...... What about you?

My dive group consists of 3 lawyers, one chiropractor and an off shore engineer.....all in the 30s except me....sporting a sexy 44 here. Would look forward to you coming with us one day, however....we are all AOW and usually get in a cpl of dives deeper than your limit. Any plans on getting you AOW?

actually I am planning to get it I was just going to wait till next summer to do it so I can get a couple of dives under my belt but the way its looking now I just might get it now since that will garantee 5 dives for the summer........ As of right now the deepest I have been is 85 ft from my OW dives................. Where did you get your AOW?........ Who does your offshore engineer buddy work for?

How did you get to 85'? When I had my OW I did scoot down to 72', but had my 3 AOW buddies within an arm reach. We just got back from Panama City Beach where we got 4 great dives in. I did all my training at MBT in Pensacola. Great group of guys.

My buddies and I are doing a Cozumel trip next month. Gimme your contact info....I may do a quick one day trip soon. Getting up VERY early and Driving over for a am dive and coming home that afternoon.
