I am truly pleased that you have managed the determination, to organise your magnificent sounding trip
and told us on ScubaBoard a wonderful safe environment, where I am sure you'll get your desired results

Alas I reside in a far away place and unable to participte I can only wish you a most wonderful experience

Thank you for your courage and perseverance

Do you realise this thread is over a year old?

Shalom Happy Diver,

I can see from your profile that you have many postings on ScubaBoard. Last night was my first, and I may have entered these waters without doing my pre-dive check...

Should I have started a new post, rather than answering a previous post over a year old?
Any recommendations on how to reach the small subgroup of Jewish divers who would actually want to do a shomer Shabbat Live Aboard ?
Is there a better place other than ScubaBoard?
BTW, I tried to DirectMessage you but I don’t have enough public posts to be able to send a DM
Thanks so much,
Rabbi GW

No rule one way or the other. Whichever you believe will get you more eyeballs. By reviving this thread with your post, it will show up in the "new posts" list for any members who may have added it to their watch list at some point.

Thanks for your reply.
To reach the many people who never saw the original post or added it to their watchlist I need to start a new thread?

You're fine here. It seems to be active enough.

Shalom Kosher Diver!

I have organized a week on a 12 cabin luxury dive boat leaving from Nassau, Bahamas in Jan 11, 2026.
We will have a Sefer Torah, daily minyanim, and the boat will be completely glatt kosher with a masgiach on board.

I am a PADI instructor and congregational rabbi, and have been leading similar trips on sailboats for years- this trip will provide up to 5 dives a day, plus shore trips. Captain, mate, chef, and two dive masters come with the boat. Wonderful Shabbat to close out the week while we wait for our dive computers to pronounce us kosher to fly home on Sunday, Jan 18
Direct message me for more info, or send email to:
DiveMaamakim@gmail.com
I may not have been clear, there are cabins available so please be in touch if you want more info!

Mashgiach. Are Presbyterians welcome? Asking for a friend.

You need to be circumcised first.

Dude I sent you that photo accidentally, it wasn't of me anyway
But if you are questioning my Muslimhood, I can send you one

This really is extra wonderful Rabbi Divemaamakim, happy diving

In case you were wondering, you have come across a Syrian and Australian Muslims behaving like normal people

Normal for us anyway!
