I have been diving for a little over 50 years and have been fortunate to have traveled many places around the world. I recently got my girlfriend into diving and have so far taken her to the Carribean places I was familiar with, Cozumel, Bonaire, Belize and Caymans. Thinking about taking a quick trip later this winter and I wondered other spots that people might think we would like. I need someplace where she could take her Advanced Open Water because I want to take her to the South Pacific in the next year. Would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks

Did my AOW in Grand Turk, it was great!

Curacao, St. Vincent, St Thomas, St Croix, BVI.

My top choices by far will be Curacao and St. Vincent.

Dominica; direct flights from MIA now, as well as SJU and SXM. Whale watching, too. Great nature touring.

St Eustatius (Statia); a bit of the old Caribbean. Bequia, the same.

Did your Caymans experience include Little Cayman? If not then I would suggest LCBR as a great option for a great diving op and the option of completing the ADV course. I was there this past May and we had a couple onboard our group who was taking the ADV course. They basically juist did the same dives as the rest of the boat...only with their instructor. I think they did Night, Deep, Nav, Fish ID and PP Buoyancy.

+1 on Bequia but there was some hurricane damage, how extensive, I'm not sure
