Has anybody heard of the R.J. Thompson Wreck on the Gulf coast? Anything is appreciated. I understand its a USCG bouy tender that went down in a storm and sits on her roof in 75 feet. GPS numbers would be even more appreciated.

Thanks.

Buy a copy of Shipwrecks of the Sunshine State. Im pretty sure its in there, with co-ords.

It's not in there unless it is listed by a different name.

Hmm, I swear I read about it in there. Ive heard of it somewhere. In any case, damn good book with lots of co-ords.

The location is 30 miles west of Tarpon Springs. The RJ Thompson tug boat and the 80 ft barge she was towing went down in 85 feet of water during high seas. The tug, mostly intact, rests upside-down on her super-structure. A jeep also lies nearby. The barge came to rest less than a mile north.
