Prior to my 3 week diving vacation in Cozumel I noticed that a LMI (Light and Motion Industries) Power Nugget battery had leaked inside my LMI Sunray battery pod. I cleaned up the pod and subsequently tested it and it is waterproof to 130'. I contacted LMI and was informed they no longer support this system and cannot provide a battery replacement. LMI referred me to the company who manufactures their batteries and I have contacted them (via email) but have yet to hear back from them.

So, fearing the worst, I need to purchase 2 video lights. Problem is, I'm 60 years old and don't know how many dives I have left in this old, abused body of mine.

I'd really like to get a replacement battery but, failing that, have begun searching out new and used video lights. I'd like to do the whole deal (eg. 2 lights, 2 batteries, etc) but don't want to spend much over $500.00.

I'm hoping some of my friends here can provide ideas re. 1) a replacement battery or 2) inexpensive yet powerful video lights that I can attach to my LMI housing.

Thank you for reading this and thank you even more if you can provide assistance.

Sincerely, vet_ca

Thank you for the referral Sharksdelight. Yes, the housing is the LMI Mako SC100 for the Sony DCR-SC100. I've tried to contact the battery manufacturer that LMI uses (referred by Trish Jones of LMI ... a really great and helpful lady) but haven't heard back from the manufacturer yet. I'll give Tim a call at Nocturnal Lights and see what I can do. Thank you.
