We have a boat chartered and need 3 more diver to split the cost.

We are doing a Technical Dive, but if you bring a buddy, you can do 2 recreational dives instead.

fast, small boat only 6 divers and quick enough to beat the crowds.

will have EMT and Instructors on board.

$200 ea.

If interested, drop me a line at:

Thanks!

No offense, but the going price for the Oriskany trips is $150

It sure is, ($145 actually) if you are doing Recreational :30 dive, 1hr surface interval, and a second :30 dive.

Look into the going rates for Technical charters they are $195pp on a head boat because of the extended time the boat spends on site.

We got a private charter and have the boat to ourselves so we didn't think giving the extra $5 to the boat was out of line.

I would think the concern would be more focused on why the operators are charging $100 more for a trip than any other location in Florida, but who knows!

Thanks for the inpu,

Actually, the price to the Oriskany isn't that much more expensive than the typical 20-30 mile charters in this area. You'd typically pay $100-120 for a 20+ mile offshore charter which would include a deep dive, SI built into travel time to another shallower site, slightly shallower dive, then back to the dock. Considering you sit on the Oriskany for both dives, with an SI that gets you no closer to the dock, you're paying for the extra cost in time - $150 is reasonable.

Maybe other operators in FL will get you 25+ miles out for $50, but I sincerely doubt it - not and make money at the same time. Definately not in this area.

Yes, 145 for a rec trip and 200 for a tech trip seems to be the current pricing. It is a 2+ hour run and if the tech trip involves doubles or breathers, scooters and lengthy deco it is a bit different than dumping a bunch of al80 single tanks for a no decompression run to 130 or less. Bill

Thanks Bill!

Looking forward to the dive!
