I would like to dive the Lady of the Lake sometime this summer and am looking for a good outfit that does trips. I would be shooting video if that makes any difference. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

yeah, what he said. Dive Winnipesaukee is a good shop. They will take care of you on that charter. They usually advise to try to do the trip during the week as the wreck is in popular boating waters, and the area sees a lot of traffic during the weekends and holidays. I hope it all works out for you. Good luck

Thanks for in info guys and thanks for the link Reefseal. I'll give them a shout.

I'm not sure about Tech diving Soggy. I do know that Winni is deep and she has her share of wrecks. I don't see why it wouldn't have some decent Tech diving. The Lady is a relatively shallow dive. With some sunlight penetration and her open decking, I think it should be some cool footage.

Thanks again!

Steve

Hey, there really isn't a ton of diving in winni to be honest. There is the lady of the lake which is pretty good. Then there are some other spots and small wrecks to see. There are also some cliffs and rock formations. As you go deeper though the vis severally drops off even with a nice bright HID light. And soggy as for tech diving, I'd give you a solid no on that one.

Only operator is Dive Winnepesauke. http://www.divewinnipesaukee.com/ The owner seems to know what he's doing. They have a boat and may run charter to Lady if can get enough people to go.

Dive winnipesaukee is a very good operation. A few of the guys there are cave divers and definitely know there stuff. They are also pretty good about getting stuff done, and thier prices are what you'd expect from a LDS. If you can get dave down at fathom divers hes also very good. Only problem is he's usually out doing contruction and stuff.

Dive winnipesaukee also has a sister store which share the boat you can talk to bard at www.aquaticspecialties.net. They may run a different schedule that might work for you.

I ran across thier site while on the Dive Winnipesaukee site. A littler confusing. Thanks for clearing it up.

Late to the thread, but had to add, as I dive Winni quite often.

First of all, Tom @ Dive Winnipesaukee is a great local resource. This is one of the few dive shops anywhere that has a fully-equipped dive boat docked right out back. They run charters on Friday evenings (cheap, rental gear included...one-tank dive), and Sunday (rental equipment extra, two-tank dive). They usually hit the more popular dive sites on the Lake, but also take requests. Policy is that if anyone requests the Lady of the Lake, they dive there first (it's pretty much furthest away). But they also like to hit Welch Island, the old Navy testing site off of Diamond Island, Rum Point, the speedboat wrecks near Ship & Moose Islands, the wall by Parker Island, and other spots. The crew is most helpful. Can't say enough about this operation.

As far as tech dives in the Lake...I'd say not really. The best diving is between 20 and 40 feet...at 80 feet, you're essentially in the dark. The Lake does go quite deep, but you're not gonna see anything.

There are also multiple uncharted wrecks around the Lake. 70 square miles of glacial lake means a lot of diving diversity.
