Looking For Dive Buddy

Hi Everyone,

My wife and I are going to be in Grand Cayman from March 1st to 8th. Any local divers around that wouldn't mind having some one tagging along for boat or shore dive? I will have my full gear with me, all I need to do is to rent tank and some weights.

I am thinking about staying at sunshine suite and dive with divers down. Any better suggestions? I can handle myself pretty well in the water and I promise I won't hold anyone one up

One thing to know about GC diving is that most operators won't let you take tanks off their property. If you boat dive with Divers Down - or most anyone else, tanks/weights are provided.

Two places I know of that you can rent tanks that you can remove - Eden Rock (maybe) in Georgetown or Divers Direct in West Bay. Both are approx. the same distance - different direction - from SS but you probably won't want to go to Georgetown if you see any cruise ships out in the harbor...lol.

Does your wife dive? There's easy entry good diving at Sunset House, Turtle Reef, Lighthouse Point and Cobalt Coast. All have an on-site operator for rentals. You'd probably need a car as the last three are on the N/NW end of the island. SH is in south Georgetown.

Thanks, I dove with Eden Rock before, they are nice people. My problem is my wife does not dive, I think I will be doing 5 days of boat diving... just need to figure out how I can get the most out of my time there. I wouldn't mind checking out the lighthouse operat by Dive Tech, but last time I was there, they wanted me to have a buddy, and I don't have time to wait around for one .
