My folks booked my family on a cruise on the adventure of the Seas, starting the week of Janurary 15th, 2005. They got us a junior suite, so the balcony will be nice for drying my wetsuit and gear. They even booked my sisters husband and my girlfriend. Got to love it when they do stuff like this.
It appears the cruise departs from san juan and goes to aruba, curacao, st. maarten, and st. thomas. I am looking to hook up with anybody that is planning on diving that is on this cruise. I am wanting to book the dives well in advance. I am looking to get on sixpacks and stray away from cattleboats. Shore diving would also be great, I am going to be bringing my whole rig with me. Since we have 17 hrs of port time in aruba and I looking to pull possibly 5 dives including a night dive in aruba (not leaving dock till 1 in the morning is cool). I am traveling with my Non-Diving GF so looking to hookup with a perm buddy for the trip to dive in each port. Please drop me a line if you are on this cruise ship. This cruise actually looks pretty favorable for divers. 17 hrs in aruba, and then 9 1/2 hrs in all other ports. Plenty of time for some diving in every port..
If I don't get any replies I am going to start calling around to the charters and seeing about coming on as a single walk-on and see if they would just hook me up with a DM for an extra fee. I know one thing is for sure, there is no way in heck I am going to just show up and try to get paired up with a crappy diver..
Looking forward to the trip, and hopefully to hearing from some other divers that are going to be on the ship during this week.
