looking for decent dive sites and hotel/motel's in victoria

Friend and I are thinking of hitting victoria for some diving on the weekend.
What are some good places to stay near dive sites / fill stations?

we're not the richest of people so the affordable please

The strathcona downtown is cheap and fun atmospherehttp://www.strathconahotel.com/, you would be close to frank whites and ogden point dive shop and a few dive sites.

Victoria BC Hotel - Victoria Hotel Accommodations - James Bay Inn downtown have never been.Victoria Motels you might be able to find something here.

This place is almost across the road from Ogden Point, but it costs more than twice as much as most motels in town. I think Skookumchuck usually stays there when he Visits Victoria. Most of the places on the Douglas Rd. strip charge around $69.

The Surf Inn costs a little more but your right at Ogden Point. Perfect for night dives and refilling tanks.
