I live in St. Petersburg, My wife, oldest dauther and I have all our own gear, but $30-$65 per person is a bit much. the $4 a fill is not that bad. but need a nice shore dives for the average weekend. and we'll do the $ dives every few months. We've done Venice beach... and the sugar bardge. thats the only places I know about. any good ideas would help.

Spanish Rocks is the only game in town for a shore dive.

Dive boats start at around $70 (fuel costs are high) and the springs are in the $30 to $40 and 2 to 3 hour drive range.

There is always Hudson Grotto. $15 a person and it's close. Next Saturday they are having an Easter egg hunt with food and gifts. Pre registering for the event is $10 a head so that might be a option.

Keep your eye on this section. lots of us get together fairly frequently, so if you want to hit a site you haven't done before you just figure a date to go start a thread about the dive and the date, then sit back and watch people chime in and sign up.

One thing that will help you get invites and let people get a feel for you is to fill out your profile. In this day and age people tend to be a little suspicious when someone has a blank profile. Of course on the other end of the spectrum you have nutz O' people like :banana:me :pirate2:with :truckergirl:fully filled out profiles, so go figure !?

Dive safe

Much better. I am thinking about doing a little family day down at the Spanish Rocks next month. Bringing the wife and kids along to play on the beach while I dive and then maybe hit a really good pizza place on the way home if you are interested when I get the details figured out I will let you know.
For the record I am not nearly as nutty as Narcosis. He is a total wack job. He has this thing about starting trouble in restaraunts. You got to watch out for him. HAHA
