What kind of wreck diving requires a 3-hour scooter?

it takes me an hr to kick in and hr to kick out so id like somthing with along brun time so i can stay down there and expoler

scooters are about 4x the speed of kicking, so you'd be talking 15 mins out and 15 mins back for a distance of about 3k out and 3k back.

you can do that on a shortbody gavin with 18/21 Ah battery or equivalent scooter from any competitor. with a 60 minute burntime and 48 mins of usable, a shortbody will take you 24 mins out and 24 mins back, which is around 4.5k feet for its maximum range -- however, I wouldn't put myself into a situation where I'd die if those numbers were wrong...

or you can do 3k out, 18 mins of scootering around and 3k back -- and that 18 mins would be total trigger time (but how do you accurately track trigger time when you're off it a lot)?

26Ah gavins will have around 90 mins of total burntime (80% usable = 72 mins), 33Ah gavins will have around 120 mins of total burntime (80% usable = 96 mins).

[ NB: x-scooters are probably totally different ]

How are you arriving at the notion that you want a 3 hour burntime on a scooter?

Also, if you must get back or you will suffer consequences to your physical self, then it would be wise to tow a scooter and have your buddy tow an extra as well...

There seem to be three major players in the technical scooter market.

Gavin
Silent Submerge
X-Scooter

All three have plusses and minuses.

I think Lamont's figures on burntime are for max pitch, so pulling as fast as possible. I think if you don't need that much prop, you can lengthen the burn times by quite a lot.

max pitch tends to burn up motors. turning back by 1/4 turn (and GI3 seems to be making marks on the tails now for max and 1/4 back) should get you to 3k and back in around 30 minutes though still... depitching more will get you more burn, but gets much slower.. (edit: also, WKPP runs 30 mins on a scooter than switches which also helps prevent burning up motors and probably allows pitching up more/fully).

will i was doing 3 hr brun time just so i have an hr to play with if i can stay down for two hrs all the info u guys are given me is helping out alot i was looking at the x-Scooter but not to sure yet

Well, I've seen a Gavin apart (actually a GI3 Gavin and a Bill Gavin, Gavin) and I've seen a SS apart. Never seen an X apart.

If you have a chance to look at the internals, it may prove instructive.
