Loking for something to use when I travel to warm water destinations with my BP and STA. For use with AL80s for the most part. Guessing 30lbs of lift would be plenty.

Want something with low profile.

Ideally I'd be able to use my DiveRite inflator/hose, which is quite short.

Thoughts on Oxycheq? Halcyon? Other

What's wrong with the DiveRite Travel wing?

The Dive Rite travel wing is for the transpac and doesn't mount to a STA but the DR Venture wing does. 30 lbs of lift and great trim characteristics. Can be ordered with any length inflator hose, elbow or pull dump depending on preference.

I am a bit confused. If you already have a backpack and STA, I assume you have a singles wing. Why don't you just use that? BTW, you may want to check out the Oxycheq Mach V.

You could use a travel wing with a backplate but you would need to burn a hole in the back and punch grommets. I am not sure why Dive Rite does not do that, seems like they would sell more wings that way.

Fortunately my DR Travel Wing came with grommet holes (I bought it ever so slightly used). I also like my ScubaPro X-Tek Trav-Tek wing, but they don't make them any more (figures).

Not confused, I just didn't provide enough info...

I currently have a DiveRite Rec Wing, which is a single/double wing. It's not really ideal for a single tank, but I have been using it here in NJ with a steel 119, BP, 6lb STA, can light, wreck reel, etc, so it's been fine. (I mostly bought it in anticipation of doubling the 119s.)

When traveling to warm water destinations and renting an AL80 though, it's more than I need. And it's a bit of a floppy taco, even with the gusset control.

I'm figuring that a smaller wing, made specifically for singles will help streamline me a bit, taco less, pack easier, and just be an all-around better choice.

Dr. Bill - do you think the Travel Wing would work/fit with a single tank adapter? I wouldn't be adverse to burning holes and adding two grommets.

I have added grommets to my DR travel wing, so I could mount it on my DSS Kydex plate. It is easy to do, and I think it is a common mod.
