I'm in the market for a bc. Here are my choice's so far. Oceanic Probe lx,Scubapro glide, scubapro Equator. These are the ones I tried own at my LDS. Also has a Zeagle Ranger but it was to small and didn't have a top dumpvalve. I will be doing some wreck dives but don't see any real tech diving in the future.

Any suggestions would be great!

Hi,
Have you checked out the Leisure Pro website? We have a very comprehensive selection of BCD’s from almost all manufactures The Oceanic Probe LX can be purchased new or used. SKU: OCNPLX new with full Oceanic warranty, Used SKU: US10164 is XL and SKU: US10210 is a large. They do not come with an Oceanic warranty, but Leisure Pro will warrant for two years. The used BCD’s will save you over two hundred dollars. A Used Large ScubaPro Glide Plus BCD with Air 2 Octopus is available SKU: US12524. It comes with a 30 Guarantee. A ScubaPro Equator BC Red SKU: SCPET we have XS to XL in stock. Please feel free to browse our site Liesurepro.com, You can either cut and paste the SKU’s into the search window or go to buoyancy compensators and see them all. I hope this information will help you in your search.

Sincerely,

Leisure Proski

You really only need two ways to dump air, your inflator and a rear dump valve. The rest are just overkill in my opinion. If you want to find a bc with 15 dump valves, fine, but don't let your decision rest on that.

The scubapro knighthawk and almost the entire zeagle line are rear inflation. A lot of people like these.

Hi Amphiprion:

I like the three dumps (on my ScubaPro Knighthawk and my Stab jacket BC) . The two air dumps (one on the top of the BC, and one on the R/H side of the back bladder) allows me to make fine tune air dumps to trim my bouyancy. I never really like to raise my power inflator, or pull down on the unit to bleed off air. I know this is my personal taste, but the engineering involved keeps venting quick and very precise. Just my .02, maybe other disagree...........

Good point. I still don't think it should be a major factor in which bc to purchase, but thats just me.

I also don't like to use the inflator hose to dump (and think pulling on it to dump is a stupid design.) I'm also a fan of separate top and bottom dumps and currently have a Ladyhawk with these. One of those preference things, you have to decide for yourself if this is important to you.

I personally own and love my Oceanic Probe LX. Have used it for the last 4 years and the BC is sturdy and versatile with plenty of pockets for gear/smb/b-up light. I just like the feel of traditional BCs.
