Hello from the windy city. I am looking for divers who are intrested in diving Lake Michigan. I have my AOW cert and have dived the big lake before. Some of my buddies have gone south, like Florida and have no one to really dive with. There are a lot of wrecks out there just waiting for us. Please let me know if you are intrested. Thanx. Good divin & good viz, George, aka Scubaboy

Hey George-

I'm coming to Chicago on Friday August 1st and hoping to get a dive in, some of the charters I've seen require a minimum of 4 divers to go out and I've only got the bro-n-law to go with. Could you reccomend any good shoredives, or have a buddy that would be able to fill out a charter with us? Drop me an email if you'd be interested or know any good sites/charters we should try out.

Chris

Hi George, welcome to the board from the western 'burbs. I go out almost every weekend since I was certified in May. Mostly Pearl and Haigh. Just starting to get into Lake Michigan.

Great to hear from some people ! I would go with Chicago Dive Charters or Discovery Charters. They are about the best in Chicago. They do the wrecks in the big lake. I have gone to Pearl & Haigh and to be honest, I can't see myself driving all the way out there to dive those sites. Besides, there is a lot more to see in Lake Michigan. A friend of mine and myself are going out to the big lake on the weekend of Aug. 1st. His boat is rather small and can't realistically hold more than 2 people plus diving gear.
Now the weekend of August 8th sounds real good. We can make reservations for that weekend. Shiska, you can go too. Good Divin, George

Hey George,

Add me to your list.. Unfortunately It looks like I'll be taking the Rescue class that weekend - but I'm definately up for getting together with some other ScubaBoard folks for an outing. I'd love to get into the Lake a few times before the season is out.

Driving 4-6 hours to hook up with my brother in Ohio is getting old... :) Leaving Sunday morning for a family trip to Grand Cayman - so I'll be sick of diving with him anyway....

-Tim
