I am looking to try out a dive liveaboard but can only get away for a few days.

Has anyone been on a good trip that was maybe a long weekend?

I could fly to FL, Caymans, Bahamas, Turks, etc

I have searched a bit but have found either longer trips or out of date web pages.

Thanks for your help!

Did you just GOOGLE this list then? Or are these recomended by someone, have positive reviews somewhere? What prompted you to list these three in particular?

I've read a reviews about the Ultimate Getaway here. Some friends invited me to the Tortugas a couple years ago - that may have been the boat since I believe Spree was still doing Flower Gardens from Houston at the time.

Capt'n Frank (Wookie) owns the Spree - he was one of the SB dive providers at Invade The Keys this year. A woman in my local dive club was there. He'll get my business if I ever do that trip.

I'm going to do the JASA Tiger Beach trip one of these years. A casual acquaintance has been on that trip more than once.

I went out on the Spree with Wookie once when they dived the Flower Gardens. I don't think you can find a tighter, better ran, safer dive boat - and it's not as crowded as its old sister boat that still does the FGs. One example: after each dive, not only was a manifest roll call done, the skipper insisted on looking you in the eye for your reply for a quick evaluation - and once I had a minor issue, asked to speak to him at that point, and it was done. Still, the boat was very enjoyable; the safety and precision did not impair any fun.

The Spree recently became the first liveaboard ever to install an Analox Clear inline CO monitor to ensure tank air safety.

Oh, the Dry Tortugas are world renown for diving. ;)

Mini-weekend.

Have not personally used them but there some trip reports on the board that indicate a positive experience!

I have done a mini-liveaboard with them last December for 4 days and had a blast. We dived many of the reef and wrecks around Ft. Lauderdale. The boat is run by Capt. Dan and his wife Becky who are a blast. The service is great and the food is great. I highly recommend them. We drove in from Canada, but they will pick you up if you fly in and their marina is right next to Ft. Lauderdale Airport.

I have done the Ultimate Getaway Liveaboard as the only liveaboard of my life. I loved it!!! The boat is not super luxury and we sleep in bunks but its a lot of fun. Very cheap too.
