I just returned from San Carlos. The group I was with did a couple of days of local diving and a day out at the Isla San Pedro Nolasco. Winter upwelling from the deep underwater canyons reduced visibility, but diving was still doable. We dove the Sea Mount local site with fairly heavy current and reduced visibility. Sea Mount will definitely be worth another visit when conditions are better. Despite low viz conditions, divers saw large schools of barracuda and schools of frisky (guess it's spawning season) sting rays.
Sea lions did a nice job providing divers with encounters out at the island. Surprisingly, sea turtles are still hanging at the island despite winter water temperatures.
Here are a few photos from the trip.
