Greetings from Hamilton, Ontario (Canada)!

My name is Robert,

I've been a long time reader of this form and the incredible wealth of knowledge that's here. I've had my OW cert since I was 16 (now 30) but between education, start of career, etc... I've never done much more than a couple local quarry dives, and a single dive in Tobermory.

Now that I have a very stable, office, 9-5 kind of job with ample vacation and expendable income (I'm frugal in all things non-diving), I've been diving more! Started with a trip to Utila a few years ago to get my Advance Dive cert and a few specialty certs, to doing the Blue Hole in Belize a few months back.

With every trip to caribbean it makes the itch to keep diving worse and since I can't afford to travel every weekend I now find myself wanting to buy all my own gear and more more locally (cold water, ugh).

So that's where I'm at :) About to buy all my new gear, and hit up a few wreks in Tobermory in the coming weeks.

Cheers!

Oh, goody, another Great Lakes wreck diver! We need more!

Enjoy Toby and build up the experience to do the Arabia. She is awesome. Did her a few weeks back for the first time.

Thank you (everyone) for the warm welcome!

I hear a lot of good things about the Arabia! I never though the itch to dive would surpass the distaste for cold water... but here we are :p

Welcome to ScubaBoard Robert. Glad you decided to join.

Welcome to SB! Lot's of active divers in Southern Ontario. Good time of year to dive Toby, nice and warm above the thermocline, you can warm up during your safety stop. Busy up there (particularly on weekends) at this time of year though, make sure you book in advance.

Welcome. We're headed to Little Cayman this January. Still some room and it will be a bit warmer.

Greetings neighbour from just up Highway 8 (KW/Cambridge area). Welcome to Scubaboard.

Not sure about dive shops in Hamilton, but I do know that there is a great shop in Oakville if you ever happen to be in the GTA. The Dive Academy is a great shop and although I have never been on one of their trips, I do know that that go on several trips a year.
