Long shot. Anyone know where to get DSS wing locator rubber nipples?

Yep -- just held by the pieces around it seems to be okay.

No slight to your STL implied -- I didn't pull your STL; quicker for me to start from scratch.

Re. the fillet, it would contact the grommet, which is somewhat curved; I suspect the compromise is worth it.

Here's my current revision, before the split operation:

...and here's a section view with a #2 grommet:

I was also surprised how well the TPU held up -- I expected it to tear at the stem/disk interface, but it didn't.
Awesome! If the chamfer/filet doesn't set it too high out of the hole it should be fine. Let's be honest here, there is next to no load on these things and zero load once the tank strap is tightened.

Made a quick mold, not sure if they need vent holes or not? First mold I've made so be gentle :D. I could add chamfers to that if it actually does increase strength in a meaningful way. I wonder if it really does, what do you think in your testing?

This roll of TPU is a little old and damp, so some ugly stringing -- but doesn't materially affect the outcome.
That's way better than I could do and I think it does the job pretty good. CONGRATS !!

I recall making a post about this a while back looking for some (before printing them was a thing).

No of course they're not needed - as Tobin said. But I assumed he thought they would be helpful otherwise his design wouldn't have incorporated them. I personally found them nice to have in keeping the plate and wing together when not on the tank. A couple of times I've needed to trek a ways carrying or wearing my gear along the beach, or wade out to the boat, and the rubber nipples did seem to keep the wing from flopping around, especially in the water.

I considered the metal or plastic book screws as an option and didn't use them for the same reason as was previously stated - Tobin's warning about pinching the wing.

If the printed versions become a technically viable as well as available option from you guys, I'd like to have some made and would pay for the effort.

@TT_Vert If you just need a couple, I’ve got two that I thought I’d need and never did. DM me your address. (With the “big window” DSS wings I kinda see the utility, but still helpful but not necessary.)

(Unless anyone wants to start a bidding war…)

They’re definitely injection molded; pretty firm (maybe 92 duro). This design would be tough to FDM print, mostly because the pull stress would be directly in line with the layers.
If no one else has expressed an interest, I would like them!

Googling rubber nipples didn't help me any.
Yeah. Search results for "rubber nipples" would probably be entertaining, but lead down the wrong path. Tobin called them "elastomeric buttons". I tried searching for that without much success. I ended up posting about rubber grommets in 2021.
