Howdy all!

I live on Long Island. Although I have been certified for about 2 years, I've made far too few dives in that time (probably because I'm still a "renter"). I just got back from a dive trip to Bonaire and have been injected with an immense enthusiasm for Scuba once more. What was once a thirst that could be quenched with vacation dives now needs to be satisfied with local dives as well...

Been a reader and a lurker for awhile (went through the entirety of the "gear I regret thread" - sweet read) and decided to jump right in.

Present goals - get AOW certification and get into some local diving.

Present concerns - I've been reading a lot of the information here, in my limited experience I fear it leads to more confusion than enlightenment.

Anyway, see you on the board and (hopefully) making bubbles.

Howdy and Welcome to SB.com!

Welcome to Scuba Board, fellower NY'er.

Thirst, quench, vacation, local dives, yeah, you are hooked and belong on SB because you have the addiction and as I've always said, "The addiction must be fed!!"

I started out believing that I'd ony be a vacation diver but SB has changed that and I'm now looking to add local diving to get more bottom time. You should definitely get your AOW, I got mine last month and want to get Rescue next year.

Hopefully see you at a local dive site as we feed our addiction.

Thanks for the advice Don!

Sam - I am definitely interested in the Rescue class for the future as well...

Sadly I have not dived nearly enough locally :embarassed:

This weekend I begin to rectify this - diving the Ponquogue Bridge with a local club. :D

Mudd - I do not dive locally but hope to change that soon. Enjoy feeding your addiction this weekend at Ponquogue Bridge.

welcome aboard
