Ok, so I switch to the long hose. I read all the hype and made the plunge. So far I think it's great.....while diving. Very easy to wear / maneuver / donate, etc.

My issue is I can't seem to figure out where / what to do with it while I'm getting my gear on? I end up with it behind my crotch strap or laying on the ground. It's like a wild snake I'm trying to keep an eye on.

And then what do you awesome people do when you take your gear off? Just loop it around the 1st stage and clip to the right shoulder d-ring?

I searched and searched, but I kept coming up with threads as to why use the long hose. I'm already sold on that, just need some clarification on moving the setup about.

Pictures would be great. Thanks!

I just long loop it up and secure ends with small bungee cord rings that I've fashioned like rubber bands.

You just yank it and it all unfolds. The bungee rings will be cast off and on you'll need some new ones. I carry a few spares.

Look around at other people's solutions, try different stuff. Don't ascribe to any particular religion or flavor of koolaid without first trying it and seeing what works for you.

I have interest in this too having just bought a long hose as well.

Appreciate that people may have different variants, so thanks for describing what you do. Any pictures would be good as well.

Also, is the setup any different if you are using a wing vs jacket style?

Thanks!

I coil it up use the bolt snap that’s already on it. Clip it through the center of the loops to the right shoulder D ring. Slide in and out of harness real easy ( computer off wrist before sliding in or out it will snag on u)

I take the neck loop bungee (from the short hose back up), and feed a small loop up through the right shoulder D ring and make a quick wrap around the Long hose primary 2nd stage.

Another option is just to keep a small bolt snap on the primary and clip it off.

I'm looking and trying, and I don't ascribe to any particular religion, I just get a base of what could work and go from there.

Right now I'm playing with bungee tied of to a bolt snap that I can wrap around the second stage on the long hose. I think I can probably wrap it all up nice and neat and clip it to the d-ring. So there's an idea. I'm still getting use to the bungee, haven't decided yet weather to keep it, or go back to the bolt snap tied like I had it before.

Edit: found the video of what someone posted in another thread that I'm attempting

We have a very small bolt snap on the second stage. When stowing we coil the hose around the first stage and clip off the second stage. When donning gear we unclip and uncoil with the second stage beside us on the bench. While still sitting on the bench we coil the hose around our necks.

i have a velcro keeper (the kind you can buy anywhere thats double sided for bundling wires and such) on the top right of my backplate. When not diving, I coil the longhose into a small circle and secure it with the velcro. This keeps it tidy and since it's just behind my right shoulder, it's easy to get to just after having donned my wing.

Never tried it but a modification to an idea above; I like the idea of taking the necklace bungee, girth hitching it over the coiled longhose, and hanging it all from the first stage.

I do what @rob.mwpropane does for my regs. With the long hose, I take the loop off the reg cover, loop it around the coils of the long hose, and clip to the d-ring. Unclip then pop it back over the front of the second stage and off we go
