Hello everybody,

Westpoint has some nice diving sites. Playa Kalki is nice.
For all curacao diving sites check curacaoduikmagazine.com (site mostly in Dutch but a lot of sites are in English)
Still translating.

Kind regards.

Just for everybody who reads these threads, (and hasn't been to Curacao) The Hotel Kura Hulanda
has two "resorts". The Hotel is located in Otrabanda Willemstad, while the Lodge is at the West end of the island.

I'm going to the Lodge Kura Hulanda in a couple of weeks....and REALLY looking forward to it!!!

I posted a question on trip advisor but got no joy.... has anyone stayed there? Any Hints....tips.... tricks?

I'm only getting a "basic garden room"....after all I don't want to spend all day in the room and I really don't want to cook for myself on vacation.... however I do like a decent cup of coffee in the morning..... does the Lodge Garden View Room have a coffee maker (or a kettle at least)? I know the larger rooms have a kitchenette.... but they also cost considerably more.... I really don't want to add $60+ a night for a room with a kitchenette just to feed my coffee addiction!

Thanks in advance to anyone who has any inside info!

I stayed at the Lodge Kura Hulanda in August. We stayed in the Garden View Suite and for a very reasonable price upgraded to Ocean View(we discovered this when checking in). While both rooms were very nice, the OV upgrade was well worth it. It was quite a bit larger and we essentially had two patios facing the ocean. The Garden View rooms are on the small side but you do have a large covered patio with a kicthenette off of the patio. Both rooms had coffee makers. The only problem was no coffee. You can buy some at the Centrum supermarket or the gift shop at the Lodge. We always pack those Senseo coffee pads from our local grocery store and it is easy to pack, plus you don't have to fuss with finding the appropriate filters.

Loved the diving in front of the Lodge Kura Hulanda. I seemed to find more interesting coral and critters taking a right. Either way it won't suck. Beautiful dive and beach!

Thanks.... I think we are in the "bottom of the heap room" .... that would be the ground floor under the garden studio you upgraded from....:pityparty:

Garden View Room at Lodge Kura Hulanda and Beach Club

did you get the chance to see one of those inside?

The other confusion for me is when they say
"Electricity is wired with 220 Voltage with one outlet at 110 Voltage" - I thought all Curacao was 120v?? I have a load of chargers to plug in for all my rechargeable batteries.... do you need converters?

I guess you rented a car to go to Centrum?
We booked a package with our LDS so it includes 6 days of 2 tank dives with OEW.... as we will only be staying a week there probably won't be time for much else.... especially with shore dives in the afternoon.... I hear that the house reef is superb.....

If it's not too much trouble could you PM me how much you paid to upgrade?:ssst:
